Offline 500 Command not understood Joined: 2012-05-24 16:44 Posts: 1 First name: Jesse Last name: Kemper Okay so I've setup a server filezilla passive mode on Windows 7 with DynDNS. So far I've configured DynDNS properly and set the settings in the firewall to allow connections inbound and outbound on port 21. But still I get this error..... Quote:425 Can't http://www.ehmac.ca/mac-iphone-ipad-ipod-help-troubleshooting/23001-transmit-error-prefs.html open data connection.Failed to retrieve directory listing. It tells me that the user is logged in appropriately but it is not dropping them into there home folder or allowing them to connect/transfer any data etc. I've set both server/client to use passive mode, and I'm fairly sure the firewall is configured correctly as well, so now I'm pulling my hair out, any help would be appreciated. But still I get this error.....Code:425 Can't open data connection.Failed to retrieve directory listing.Yes, of course, because the listings and transfers do NOT use port 21. In the screenshot, the port offered was 49389 (192*256+237). So, in addition to the listening port, you need to define, open and forward a range of ports for Passive data connections (minimum recommended 100 ports). Please refer to the Network Configuration guide for details. Besides, in case you are behind a router and test from your own LAN, use the private LAN IP to connect. _________________### BEGIN SIGNATURE BLOCK ###No support requests per PM! Solved Can't open data connection with FTP Server Posted on 1999-03-25 Windows Networking 1 Verified Solution 7 Comments 589 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-19 We want to download files from an FTP server located in another company (VID). Therefore, we use our LAN Access Device to connect the VID's router. We have to use a specific IP address to access their LAN (10.111.32.1). The FTP Server's IP Address is 10.15.16.105. This server is a Windows NT4.0 Server with FTP Service V3.0. When we ping this server, we see the following hops: >PING -R 9 10.15.16.105 > >Pinging 10.15.16.105 with 32 bytes of data: > >Reply from 10.15.16.105: bytes=32 time=170ms TTL=127 > Route: 10.15.1.3 -> > 10.15.16.105 -> > 10.111.1.1 The protocols used on our LAN are TCP/IP and IPX/SPX. We have 1 Novell 3.12 server and 2 Windows NT4.0 Servers. One of these is a proxyserver used to give access to internet for our users and to support a future intranet. The Local Address Table of the Proxy contains the two addresses 10.111.32.1 and 10.15.16.105. Our application is written with VB4.0 (32 bits) and uses Distinct's Visual Internet Toolkit (these are objects created to open a dial-up connection, to send mails, to connect an FTP Server, and so on..). I'm using a Windows 95 platform to develop this, and everything is running perfectly on my own PC (Dial-up, FTP connection and file transfer). The goal is to place this application on a server NT to launch this application during the night. When I try my aplication on the server, I can connect the FTP Server and I can send commands such as changing active directory. But when I send any command which needs a data connection to be openned, I always receive this message: "Error accepting data connection (code: -8)". This is maybe due to a bad configuration on my Windows NT4.0 Server. I've also tested on a Windows NT4.0 Workstation, and I got the same message. When I make an FTP connectio

There are many reasons why Error Accepting Data Connection happen, including having malware, spyware, or programs not installing properly. You can have all kinds of system conflicts, registry errors, and Active X errors. Reimage specializes in Windows repair. It scans and diagnoses, then repairs, your damaged PC with technology that not only fixes your Windows Operating System, but also reverses the damage already done with a full database of replacement files.
A FREE Scan (approx. 5 minutes) into your PC's Windows Operating System detects problems divided into 3 categories - Hardware, Security and Stability. At the end of the scan, you can review your PC's Hardware, Security and Stability in comparison with a worldwide average. You can review a summary of the problems detected during your scan. Will Reimage fix my Error Accepting Data Connection problem? There's no way to tell without running the program. The state of people's computers varies wildly, depending on the different specs and software they're running, so even if reimage could fix Error Accepting Data Connection on one machine doesn't necessarily mean it will fix it on all machines. Thankfully it only takes minutes to run a scan and see what issues Reimage can detect and fix.
A Windows error is an error that happens when an unexpected condition occurs or when a desired operation has failed. When you have an error in Windows, it may be critical and cause your programs to freeze and crash or it may be seemingly harmless yet annoying.
A stop error screen or bug check screen, commonly called a blue screen of death (also known as a BSoD, bluescreen), is caused by a fatal system error and is the error screen displayed by the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems upon encountering a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to "crash".
One of the biggest causes of DLL's becoming corrupt/damaged is the practice of constantly installing and uninstalling programs. This often means that DLL's will get overwritten by newer versions when a new program is installed, for example. This causes problems for those applications and programs that still need the old version to operate. Thus, the program begins to malfunction and crash.
Computer hanging or freezing occurs when either a program or the whole system ceases to respond to inputs. In the most commonly encountered scenario, a program freezes and all windows belonging to the frozen program become static. Almost always, the only way to recover from a system freeze is to reboot the machine, usually by power cycling with an on/off or reset button.
Once your computer has been infected with a virus, it's no longer the same. After removing it with your anti-virus software, you're often left with lingering side-effects. Technically, your computer might no longer be infected, but that doesn't mean it's error-free. Even simply removing a virus can actually harm your system.
Reimage repairs and replaces all critical Windows system files needed to run and restart correctly, without harming your user data. Reimage also restores compromised system settings and registry values to their default Microsoft settings. You may always return your system to its pre-repair condition.
Reimage patented technology, is the only PC Repair program of its kind that actually reverses the damage done to your operating system. The online database is comprised of over 25,000,000 updated essential components that will replace any damaged or missing file on a Windows operating system with a healthy version of the file so that your PC's performance, stability & security will be restored and even improve. The repair will deactivate then quarantine all Malware found then remove virus damage. All System Files, DLLs, and Registry Keys that have been corrupted or damaged will be replaced with new healthy files from our continuously updated online database.
