appreciated. Respond to this 0 Does the printer work when feeding from tray 2?Is the printer feeding more than one sheet when you use tray 1?
(do two sheets feed slightly overlapped)The 41.3 is usually telling you that the printer thinks the paper fed in was longer than the size specified. by Stephen on Aug 12, 2008 at 10:41am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I
use tray 2 exclusively. But when I use tray 1, it will feed but tell me there is a mismatch in tray 2. It will repeatly print over and over again when using tray 1. by Tuftsbiomed on Aug 12, 2008 at 11:57am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Print out a configuration page from the menu. Example, "tray is in LTR position." Also, change out the rollers above the tray and at the front of the tray. If this does not work, tray may need replacing or a spring/hardware broken from tray. Hope this helps. by Yardman on May 11, 2009 at 8:17am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 41.x41 = Laser was shut down.x = Why it was shut down.1, .2, .4 = laser issue - replace laser...HOWEVER.3 & .5 = Paper timing issue.Make sure tray one is configured for Letter (NOT Any)Test paper from tray 1 & 2.If you have problems from BOTH, then your problem is the Registration Assembly or the Registration Sensor (or flag) just after the registration rollers. tried the following with no luck .. 1. replaced the dc board2. replaced the pickup rollers3. replaced the fuser4. replaced the part behind tray 15. replaced the toner6. cleaned the machineand even after all that over 4 hours now , i unexpected paper size in tray 2 laserjet pro 400 am still getting the same error .. i have read the other posts on this topic and unexpected paper size in tray 1 have tried some the ideas in there but will no luck .. the printer will work fine from tray 1 , so didnt replaced the registion 41.3 unexpected paper size hp 4050 assy because i figure it was good .. any advice ? thanks Respond to this 0 if it works fine from tray 1 i would have thought then it's a problem with tray 2? to start with, print a config page and see http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/57607 what paper it think it has in tray 2. for instant, if it says letter and you have A4 then the machine is going to say wrong paper size once the paper is fed through it.other possibilities are sensors or paper feed problem. and once again concentrate on feed path from tray 2.good luck.edit: have you checked/clean the sensor just before the transfer roller? by tk55 on May 26, 2010 at 2:20pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Most times this occurs when the backstop http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/67310 of the tray is busted. Usually there is a crack in the plastic with the backstop you see when you remove the paper. First thing I would do is replace the paper tray as replacing all the other parts was just a waste of time. by dmzcompute on May 26, 2010 at 7:59pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You can replace just the backstop. I have a kit for it. by moe on May 26, 2010 at 10:36pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Sorry guys , but all ready tried that , I have a stack of 4250 paper trays and using another tray doesnt work , i get the same error .. any other thoughts ? and thanks for the help .. by startrek133 on May 27, 2010 at 6:40am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You do not tell us if there is paper jammed in the printer when this happens. If so it could be the selenoid for tray 2 "L" arm is sticking due to wear of the dampening material. You just need to remove the right side cover and you should have access to the selenoid which is held by one screw. Carefully remove it with the wire attached and clean off the "L" arm and put some tape over it and put back. It could also be the registration sensor which determines if the correct size is going thru the printer. In other words when the leading edge passes over the flag it trig

First thing I would do if that has the correct size listed is run a 10 page paper path test from tray 1. If it does not jam I would set tray 2 to 'ANY' size and then try a 10 page paper path test from tray 2. If that works, I would suspect something is wrong with the sensor that is behind the paper feed roller assembly. Is there anything abnormal with the paper that is in the printer when it jams? Such as two pieces stuck together (but not perfectly) so that they overlap and make it seem as if a pie

A Windows error is an error that happens when an unexpected condition occurs or when a desired operation has failed. When you have an error in Windows, it may be critical and cause your programs to freeze and crash or it may be seemingly harmless yet annoying.
A stop error screen or bug check screen, commonly called a blue screen of death (also known as a BSoD, bluescreen), is caused by a fatal system error and is the error screen displayed by the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems upon encountering a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to "crash".
One of the biggest causes of DLL's becoming corrupt/damaged is the practice of constantly installing and uninstalling programs. This often means that DLL's will get overwritten by newer versions when a new program is installed, for example. This causes problems for those applications and programs that still need the old version to operate. Thus, the program begins to malfunction and crash.
Computer hanging or freezing occurs when either a program or the whole system ceases to respond to inputs. In the most commonly encountered scenario, a program freezes and all windows belonging to the frozen program become static. Almost always, the only way to recover from a system freeze is to reboot the machine, usually by power cycling with an on/off or reset button.
Once your computer has been infected with a virus, it's no longer the same. After removing it with your anti-virus software, you're often left with lingering side-effects. Technically, your computer might no longer be infected, but that doesn't mean it's error-free. Even simply removing a virus can actually harm your system.
Reimage repairs and replaces all critical Windows system files needed to run and restart correctly, without harming your user data. Reimage also restores compromised system settings and registry values to their default Microsoft settings. You may always return your system to its pre-repair condition.
